History of Burago

Burago has ancient origins, being an agricultural village that has developed over the centuries. In 1810, during the Napoleonic period, it was included in the hamlet of Castrezzone, but the decision was overturned by the Austrians when they took control of the region in 1815.

After the unification of Italy, Burago changed its name to "Burago Riviera" because of its proximity to Lake Garda, but due to its small population, it was soon annexed to Muscoline.
