In 1546, the fiefdom passed to the Tassis family, who were Neapolitans residing in Milan, while in 1685, it was transferred to the Magnani family. During the Napoleonic era, the municipality of Mulazzano incorporated Cassino d'Alberi, Cascina Virolo, and Cascina Isola Balba, which later became autonomous with the establishment of the Lombardo-Veneto Kingdom. In 1841, Cascina Virolo was united with Mulazzano, while in 1869, Cassino d'Alberi, Cascina Isola Balba, and Quartiano were incorporated. The name derives from "Mulatius" or "Mulacius," a Roman character.
