The town changed ownership several times throughout history, until it became part of the province of Ancona in 1860. The disappearance of the Napoleonic kingdom led to the reassignment of the town, causing confusion with other cities in the state. Thus, in 1862, the term "Alba" was added to the name of the municipality.
