History of Mornico Losana
The municipality of Mornico Losana was mentioned as one of the places granted by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa to the city of Pavia in a document from 1164. In those days, it was a fortified place that enjoyed autonomous administration. Later, the village followed the fortunes of the Montalto fiefdom through the Strozzi, Taverna, and finally returning to the Belcredi (family), who in the 18th century took the title of Marquises of Mornico.
