The history of Morigerati

According to legend, Morigerati was founded by the Italic people of the Morgeti and the settlement would be located in the same place where their fortified village was located. Later, it was colonized by the Romans, as evidenced by the ruins in the Rumanuru locality. The municipality also has an interesting administrative history: from 1811 to 1860 it was part of the district of Sanza in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, while from 1860 to 1927 it belonged to the district of Sanza during the Kingdom of Italy.

The museum, established in 1976 and inaugurated in 1994 as a recognized regional museum of communal interest, collects over 1000 objects divided into various categories, including the cellar, terracotta objects, agriculture and pastoralism, fiber textile weaving and much more.
