Manzano

Welcome to Manzano!

Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about a lovely hamlet located in the municipality of Mori, in the autonomous province of Trento: Manzano. Are you ready to join me in discovering this little gem? Let's go!

History

To begin with, a bit of history. Did you know that Manzano was a separate municipality? Yes, you read that right. It was in fact established in 1920, after the annexation of Tridentine Venice to the Kingdom of Italy from 1861-1946. Unfortunately, in 1924 it was merged with the municipality of Pannone (Mori), together with the other municipalities of Nomesino, Chienis and Ronzo, and the territory went to the municipality of Mori.

Monuments and places of interest

But let's move on to what interests us most: the monuments and places of interest. Let's start with the religious architecture. In Manzano, we have the Church of Sant'Antonio, documented since 1537, and the Church of Sant'Apollonia, built as far back as 1646. Both are noteworthy and worth a visit.

Now let's move on to the civil architecture. If you are fond of medieval history, you cannot miss the Castle of Nomesino, located near Manzano. Unfortunately, the original structure was demolished by the Venetians in 1439, but you can still admire the tower, the chapel, and part of the walls. If you're interested, you can also take a guided tour to learn more about the history of the castle and the area.

Notes

Here we find a section of text that has no content. We must therefore continue with the next section.

For those who want to deepen their knowledge of Manzano, I would like to point out that there is a bibliography on the subject. I haven't read it yet, but it could be useful for those interested in the history of the hamlet.

For example, you can take a look at the official website of the municipality of Mori where you can find more information about the hamlet. Furthermore, if you are fond of trekking, you can consult the maps of the trails that cross the area.
