Trivellini Massacre: A Tragedy of World War II

Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about a dramatic event that took place during World War II. It is the Trivellini Massacre, which occurred on September 15, 1944, in the town of Montichiari, province of Brescia.

What happened

The Trivellini Massacre was caused by an air attack carried out by a small group or a single aircraft, called Pippo, as part of Operation Night Intruder. These attacks aimed to hit targets normally avoided by large-scale air bombings.

The Brescia-Mantova-Ostiglia tramway was in the Trivellini neighborhood when it was attacked. It was just after 12 pm on September 15, 1944, and the tram was full of passengers. The attack resulted in the death of 17 people.

The Trivellini Monument

In memory of the victims of the massacre, a monument was erected in Trivellini. This structure is located in a green area and is composed of a large marble cross. The names of the victims are engraved at its base. Every year, on September 15, a mass and a ceremony to remember the victims are held.

Conclusion

The Trivellini Massacre is a tragic event that reminds us of the brutality of World War II. In this era of peace, we must remember what happened to prevent it from happening again. The Trivellini Monument reminds us that behind every war event, there are innocent lives lost. Let's always strive to build peace and avoid tragedies like that of Trivellini.
