Centobuchi: The Fraction of Monteprandone

Centobuchi is the fraction of Monteprandone, located in the province of Ascoli Piceno, with a population of 8384. It is situated in the valley of the Tronto River along the Via Salaria and is the only fraction of the municipality.

It has been hit by a great demographic expansion that has caused it to become much larger than the hillside capital. Its flat position, proximity to major communication routes, and urbanization process have contributed to its growth.

Centobuchi is the birthplace of many important industrial activities developed in recent decades. Among the most relevant are the production and revision of helicopters, bathroom furniture production, modules for encoding in industrial environments, and agro-food sector companies.

Monuments and Places of Interest

The Church of Sant'Anna di Monteprandone, whose origins are unknown but was already mentioned in 1458, is one of the main places of worship in Centobuchi. The precious lunette above the entrance door depicts the Saint with the baby Jesus in her arms, a work by the sculptor G. Sassetti (1904).

Centobuchi also hosts three other churches: the church of the Addolorata in the Molino Nicolai district, the Church of the Sacred Heart in the center of the fraction, built after World War II, and the Queen of Peace church.

Sports in Centobuchi

The fraction is home to the football club A.S.D. Centoprandonese, the heir of the S.S.D. Centobuchi Calcio, which reached Serie D in 2004-2005. The other team present in the area is the A.S.D. Real Centobuchi.

Both have played regional amateur championships and attract a large local sports audience.
