Monte Castello di Vibio extends along the gentle hills that surround the Tiber river and the Faena stream. The area is part of the Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana Mountain Community.

The Teatro della Concordia is the real gem of the village. This is the smallest Italian-style theater still existing, with a capacity of only 99 seats. It was built in 1808 by nine wealthy families of the town and Luigi Agretti's decorations were restored after the 1993 renovation.

The economy of the village is largely based on agriculture, with the production of olive oil, cereals and tobacco in the Madonna del Piano area. However, there are also some craft shops in the village.

Sport
The only sports activity in the municipality is represented by football with the A.S.D Montecastello di Vibio, which plays in the Umbrian Promotion Championship Group B.
