Revigliasco

Welcome to Revigliasco Torinese, a small historic village on the outskirts of Turin!

If you love history, tranquility, and the beauty of small hilly villages, Revigliasco Torinese is the perfect place for you.

History

This hilly location in Turin has an ancient and interesting history, dating back to Roman times and passing through the Middle Ages and feudal battles between Moncalieri and Asti. The castle built by the Lords of Asti is still in ruins today but remains an interesting historical landmark in the area.

Revigliasco Torinese: history, beauty and tranquility at the gates of Turin.

Etymology

The name "Revigliasco" seems to derive from the Latin "Revigliascum", referring to the most common tree on the surrounding hills, the Quercus petraea. The town's coat of arms contains this very tree, recalling its Latin roots.

Monuments and places of interest

The Parish Church of San Martino di Tours is definitely the most remarkable monument in the village, with its Baroque architecture and numerous works of art inside. Don't miss the Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima and the Chapel of Our Lady with Child, depicted by the painter Alessandro Trono.

If you want to enjoy the tranquility of the hill, you can relax in the Remembrance Park, a green area with panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Life in the village

Revigliasco Torinese was a long-standing autonomous municipality but was annexed to Moncalieri in 1928. However, the village has maintained its tranquility and hilly charm, becoming a prestigious residential area.

The residents of the village are proud of their history and traditions, as evidenced by the Feast of San Martino, a celebration held every year in honor of the patron saint of the village.

Culinary experiences

If you want to taste the flavors of the local cuisine, we recommend the Trattoria delle Ghiacciaie, where you can enjoy traditional Piedmontese dishes and the warmth of local hospitality.

Revigliasco Torinese is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Turin where history, tranquility, and the beauty of the hills come together to offer an unforgettable experience. Come and visit us!
