History

Born as a simple fishing village, in the 1960s Cozze underwent a great building development with the construction of large villas with gardens and tree-lined avenues. Despite being mainly frequented during the summer period, Cozze has maintained its strong identity and also houses churches and numerous historic villas.

The urbanization of Cozze mainly dates back to the second half of the 20th century, and the houses are mainly made up of villas located between the coastline and the State Road 16 Adriatica.

Infrastructure and transportation

Thanks to the construction of the variant stretch from Mola di Bari to Cozze, the village is no longer crossed by the State Road 16 Adriatica, which now runs on a track a few tens of meters away from the original one, became part of the town of Mola di Bari. A bike path has also been created along the road.

In addition, the village of Cozze is easily accessible by both private car and public transportation.
