History

The town of Moiano takes its name from a "Fundus Mevianus," although its origins are contested with Bonea. The first document that mentions this town dates back to 974 and it's a parchment of the Cava Code, which reads "''loco ubi dicitur Meane trans Boneia''". The officiality of the Casale di Moiano is attested in 1640 as belonging to the territory of Airola.

Only in 1809, Moiano gained autonomy, separating from the municipality of Airola. Since then, the community has undergone a series of transformations and positive developments.

The coat of arms and the gonfalon of Moiano were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on October 20, 1953.
