The history of Mirabello Sannitico is ancient. In fact, the oldest reference to the city dates back to February 1193 when Abbot Ferulfo mentioned the church of San Salvatore in Mirabello. Over the years, Mirabello Sannitico has suffered numerous earthquakes that destroyed it. For example, on July 26, 1805, an earthquake killed almost 6000 people in Molise and 300 in Mirabello, destroying the church of San Nicola.
