Society

Mesenzana has a long history, and its population has grown over the years. In 1751, the municipality had 310 inhabitants, and this number slowly grew over the centuries. In 1805, the population was 401 people, but after the annexation of Brissago Valtravaglia, Grantola, and Roggiano in 1809, the number of inhabitants increased to 1101. In 1853, Mesenzana had a population of 578 people, rising to 728 in 1901. In 1927, Mesenzana merged with the city of Brissago Valtravaglia, and in 1961 the municipality had 703 inhabitants.

Administration

Mesenzana is part of the Valli del Verbano Mountain Community. This organization is responsible for supporting and promoting the economic, social, and cultural development of local communities, in support of tourism and agriculture in the area.
