Monument to the War Dead '15 '18

The small fraction of Losson di Meolo is known as Losson della Battaglia in memory of the dramatic events that occurred during World War I. The village was in fact involved in a battle that saw it as an extreme enemy outpost and a battlefield. The Italian re-conquest of Losson took place in June 1918 but with heavy losses. To commemorate this tragic war event, the Meolo's artillery section erected a small monument at the entrance of the village. The plaque reads: "On the night of June 25th, 1918, from this sacred shore to the destiny of the country, infantrymen, daring men, sharpshooters, knights, artillerymen, and Genieri of the undefeated III army, in a tumult of clashing troops and the roar of weapons, moved to the reconquest of that strip of Italian land that the sacrifice of life and blood of the best sons had consecrated to the Homeland. Participating units: divisions 22, 23, 37. Losses 3000 dead, 20,000 wounded."

The municipality of Meolo created the Bers. Attilio Verdirosi Park to enhance an unused area of the village. This park is dedicated to a brave sharpshooter: Attilio Verdirosi. He was killed by an enemy machine gun that tried until the last to stop the carnage that was occurring.

Losson della Battaglia Church

The parish church of Losson is dedicated to Sofronio Eusebio Girolamo. Built-in 1922 by the local community, it is actually the reconstruction of the old church destroyed by the war events of World War I.
