Mombretto
Mombretto di Mediglia: a fraction in the heart of the South Milan Agricultural Park
Hello everyone! Today I'll be talking about Mombretto di Mediglia, a small fraction located in the province of Milan. Its location is particular because it is inside the South Milan Agricultural Park, a vast green area that extends for several kilometers. Mombretto is close to three municipalities: Paullo, Pantigliate, and Tribiano, and is about 12 km from Milan.
History
Although the village is relatively new, dating back to the 1950s, it has been inhabited by several families from various regions of Italy. Originally, the village was mainly populated by families from northern Italy, such as Lombardy, the province of Cremona, and Bergamo, but over the years, families from southern Italy, such as Campania and Sicily, have also moved to this place.
Society
Currently, the village has several public services. For example, there is the G. Rodari nursery, the A. Vivaldi elementary school, and the A. Manzoni middle school, belonging to the school complex based in Bustighera. In addition, there is a post office, a pharmacy, and a medical center. Regarding public housing, the city council has recently approved a project for the construction of the new school complex near the current one.
Infrastructure and transport
Urban mobility
Regarding transportation, Mombretto is well connected to Milan and neighboring villages thanks to a transport company called Autoguidovie. The latter manages three different lines: the z412 San Donato, which passes through Paullo, Zelo Buon Persico, and Comazzo, the z413 San Donato, which passes through Paullo, and the K525 San Donato, which goes up to Crema.
Other structures
In the territory belonging to the Municipality of Pantigliate, a large shopping center called "Paullese Center" was built. As for public schools, we have already mentioned the new construction project for the school complex. Furthermore, in 2013, the new Casa dell'acqua on Via Cimabue was inaugurated, which is part of a redevelopment project for the Mombretto fraction.
Sport
There is a football field at the Comunale Stadium of Via Melozzo da Forlì, where some matches of the Polisportiva Mediglia 2005 are played. In the past, Mombretto played an important role in women's football, hosting the Associazione Calcio Femminile Aurora Mombretto team, which played several seasons in the Serie A women's league from 1981 to 1992.
In essence, Mombretto di Mediglia is a small fraction that has a lot to offer. Thanks to its infrastructure and public services, it has become an ideal place for those seeking tranquility and greenery on the outskirts of Milan. Its connections with the city are excellent, and its future projects make it even more promising. I can't wait to visit this fraction located in the heart of the South Milan Agricultural Park!
