Motta Vigana

A brief introduction to Motta Vigana

Hello friends! Today I want to talk to you about Motta Vigana, a geographical fraction of the Lombardy Municipality of Massalengo.

The history of Motta Vigana

This location has not always been called this, but in the past it was known as "Cà di Giacomo e Antonio Motta" and included the geographical fractions of Lanfroia and Priora.

During the Napoleonic era, in 1809, Motta Vigana became a fraction of Massalengo, but regained autonomy with the establishment of the Lombard-Venetian Kingdom in 1815. It was included in the Borghetto Lodigiano district of the province of Lodi and Crema.

At the unification of Italy in 1861, the municipality had 660 inhabitants. However, in 1879 Motta Vigana was annexed to Massalengo.
