Martinsicuro: the first beach of Abruzzo

In the 3rd century BC, the city became a Roman municipality called ''Castrum Truentinum''.
The archaeological excavations carried out at the mouth of the Tronto river have allowed the ancient city to be located, which remained uncertain for several centuries, and to carry out a detailed reconstruction of the urban areas of the city, including the ''Macellum'' in the immediate vicinity of the port and the commercial district.
