In fact, the name "Arnago" seems to derive from "urbs arnensis", meaning the city of bears, which was probably the name of a Roman postal station located in this area.
In the Middle Ages, Arnago was the center of the Solandro district, and its territory extended over much of the current Val di Sole. It was one of the first villages in Trentino to become a fiefdom of the bishops of Trento, and in 1628, with the construction of the church of Saints Romedio and Domenico, it reached its maximum splendor.
