Rainfall is distributed throughout the year, but the rainiest month is April. July and January are the driest months, while snow falls on the city almost every year in winter, although rarely with significant accumulations.
History
Reggio Emilia, founded along the Emilia road by the Roman consul Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 187 BC), has a long and eventful history. The Italian flag, inspired by the tricolors of the Cispadan Republic, was first displayed in the eighteenth-century Tricolor Room of the municipality on January 7, 1797. The city has great historical importance, and after World War II, Reggio Emilia was one of the cities decorated with military valor for the Italian Resistance's liberation war for the significant role it played during the Italian liberation war.
