Luvinate

Welcome to Luvinate!

Hello everyone, today I will talk about Luvinate, a small municipality in the Varese province in Lombardy, with a population of around 1300 inhabitants.

Monuments and places of interest

Luvinate is a place rich in history and culture, among its most important monuments stands out Villa Mazzorin. Built in 1877 in eclectic style, the villa is surrounded by a large English garden and once belonged to the Mazzorin family, who in 1930 gave it to the Rossi family. The villa complex also includes a rustic in neo-Gothic style that I invite you to visit to admire the beauty of a bygone era.

Luvinate: between history, culture, and hidden treasures.

Society

Luvinate, over the years, has undergone an interesting demographic evolution. In 1751 the population was 225 inhabitants, but in 1853, thanks to the annexation of Barasso, Morosolo, Casciago, and Oltrona al Lago, the population reached 505 inhabitants. In 1927, Luvinate was annexed to Comerio and in 1961 the population reached 810 inhabitants.

Infrastructure and transport

Between 1914 and 1940, Luvinate hosted a stop of the Varese-Angera tramway, managed by the Società Anonima Tramvie Orientali del Verbano (SATOV). A piece of history that has marked the past of our country and still has cultural value today.

Conclusion

Luvinate is a small municipality rich in history and culture, a place where the past and the present meet. Villa Mazzorin, the rustic in neo-Gothic style, and the Varese-Angera tramway stop represent some of the traces of our country’s past. I invite all the curious and history lovers to explore Luvinate to discover other hidden treasures.
