Lozio is located in Val di Lozio and its territory borders several municipalities, including Cerveno, Schilpario, Ossimo and Malegno. The town hall is located in Laveno and can be reached via the provincial road of the province of Brescia that starts from Malegno.

History

The history of Lozio has Roman origins, as demonstrated by the findings of bronze and copper coins with the effigy of Tiberius and Constantine. In addition, the place names in the area contain Latin roots, such as Villa, Sunciva and Sonvico.

In 1156, a brawl broke out between the inhabitants of Lozio and Borno while they were on a procession to Cividate Camuno. Over time, the municipality underwent various influences from different feudal families, such as the Nobili and the Federici.

Among the families that obtained the fiefdom of Lozio from the Archbishop of Brescia, there are the Nobili, who owned large estates from the 1500s until the mid-eighteenth century. The Federici, on the other hand, were the owners between 1410 and 1428.
