Lovere is located at the entrance of Val Camonica, about 43 kilometers from Bergamo and overlooking Lake Iseo. The territory of Lovere is characterized by breathtaking nature, and you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

History

Lovere has a rich history thanks to its strategic location which puts it in communication with different neighboring locations. The first established settlements date back to a period between the 5th century BC and the 3rd century BC, as evidenced by the remains of a residential nucleus of Gallic Cenomani origin known as ''Castelliere''. After the arrival of the Roman Empire, Lovere built the ''San Maurizio road'', an important communication route, and a major settlement was built on the shores of the lake. Lovere underwent various invasions, later becoming the fiefdom of monks from Tours, and then of bishops of Bergamo. In 1441, Lovere came under the control of the Republic of Venice, which demolished many of the fortifications present in the city.
