The story of Ramon
Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Ramon, a hamlet of the municipality of Loria, in the province of Treviso. This small locality is very interesting from a historical point of view. In fact, in ancient documents it is indicated as ''Ramonum'' and, for the first time, it is mentioned in a will of 1190 as a property belonging to the Count of Camposampiero. However, the origin of the village could be even older, dating back to the 6th century as a Lombard settlement. A first chapel, dedicated to San Pancrazio and San Giorgio, was consecrated in 1157 and was part of the parish of Castello di Godego.
Places of interest in Ramon
If you are passionate about architecture and art, you cannot miss the Venetian Villas of Ramon. One of the most famous is ''Villa Colonna'', now known as ''Jonoch''. This eighteenth-century building is composed of a noble part with decorated interiors and stuccoes, and a completely renovated part, called a barchessa. It was owned by the Colonna until 1642, then by the Dolfin until 1700. Nowadays it houses a furniture exhibition. Another villa that I recommend you to visit is ''Villa Pasqualigo-Soranzo'', now called ''Marchetti''. This two-story eighteenth-century palace has a large and square loggia and was owned by the Pasqualigo family until 1643 and by the Soranzo family after.
The Church of San Pancrazio, dating back to the eighteenth century, is another attraction for those who love places of religious worship.
Events in Ramon
If you decide to visit Ramon, I suggest you participate in the ''Beer Festival'' held every year between June and July in the football field behind the parish church. In addition, you can witness the ''Palio delle Contrade'', a set of games played by boys and adults. There are four teams: the reds (Borgo ferro di cavallo), the greens (Borgo Quercia), the yellows (Borgo Mulino) and the blues (Borgo della Ferrovia).
Sports in Ramon
If you are a sports enthusiast, in Ramon you can play football thanks to the Amateur Sports Association Calcio Ramon 1980. The highest series played by the company was the Prima Categoria.
