Physical Geography
Lavenone is located in the Valle Sabbia, a mountain valley that extends in the northwestern area of the province of Brescia. The valley is bordered to the east by the Rhaetian Alps and to the west by the Bresciane Prealps. The area of the municipality is approximately 17.7 km² and is composed of forests and mountains.
History
Lavenone has ancient origins, dating back to the Roman era. Over the centuries, the village was under the control of various lords and the Duchy of Milan. During World War I, Lavenone was one of the places where the Battle of Caffaro was fought.
Symbols
The coat of arms of Lavenone is represented by a blue background with a golden rampant lion armed and langued in red, and a natural mountain of six peaks, founded on a countryside of green. In the chief, you can see a blue lion on a silver background. The municipal banner is white and blue.
Monuments and Places of Interest
The Church of San Bartolomeo Apostolo is one of the most important monuments in Lavenone. Located in the center of the village, it was built between the end of the 18th century and 1840. Inside the church, you can admire several precious works of art.

Lavenone is a small but active municipality. In recent decades, the population has slightly decreased, from about 600 inhabitants in the 1960s to 490 today.

The administration of Lavenone is managed by a mayor and a municipal council. Currently, the mayor is Fabrizio Pedroni.
Infrastructure and Transport
Lavenone is located along the state road 237 del Caffaro, which connects Brescia to Alto Garda Bresciano. In the past, the municipality housed a stop of the Brescia-Vestone-Idro tramway, built during World War I for military purposes.
