The History of the Potenza-Pignola-Laurenzana Railway
The Potenza-Pignola-Laurenzana railway was a narrow-gauge railway line that connected Potenza, Italy with Nova Siri, a project that was never completed. The line was operational from 1919, under the management of Ferrovie Calabro Lucane, but was permanently suspended in 1974.
The Route of the Railway
The line started from the station of Potenza Inferiore and continued to the station of Pignola, passing through the station of Laurenzana. The line was never completed to Nova Siri.
Notes
The Potenza-Pignola-Laurenzana railway was part of a large-scale project of the Mediterranea-Calabro-Lucane (MCL) to connect various locations in the area. However, due to various delays and economic difficulties, the line was operational for only a short period of time.
