This strategic position within the Contado del Seprio allowed for the construction of small defensive structures, which were later transformed into castles.
One of the most important festivities in the village was the representation of the passion of Christ, known in the Jerago dialect as "Pasiun dul Signur". This representation usually took place on the evening of Good Friday, involving hundreds of actors and extras.
