Over the years, the feudal family of Jacurso changed several times, passing from the Caracciolo of Nicastro to the Palma, the Carafa of Nocera, the Loffredo and the Ruffo of Calabria.

Jacurso's architectural heritage includes buildings of great interest such as the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Salvazione, the parish church of San Sebastiano from the 16th century, rebuilt after the earthquake of 1783, and the municipal palace of 1931.
