The village of Ittireddu
Ittireddu is a small village with 470 inhabitants located in the Sassari province of Sardinia, in the ancient Logudoro region. It sits on a hill called Monte Ruiu, which means "red mountain," immersed in a rugged nature of tall mountains and lush vegetation. The village has a millenary history dating back to the Neolithic era, and numerous archaeological testimonies attest to its presence during the Nuragic and Roman periods. Its medieval historic center has undergone the dominion of numerous noble families, including the Genoese Doria and the Judicate of Arborea until being redeemed from feudalism by Casa Savoia in 1839.

The coat of arms and the banner of the municipality of Ittireddu were granted by presidential decree No. 2866 of November 14, 1978. The banner is a white and blue flag divided down the center.
Monuments and places of interest
Ittireddu boasts numerous monuments and places of interest that are worth visiting. Among the religious architectures, visitors can admire the Byzantine-era Church of Santa Croce, the parish church of Nostra Signora Inter Montes, the Church of San Giacomo, and the Church of Sant'Elena. For archaeology enthusiasts, there are several sites of interest such as the Necropolis of Partulesi, the Roman cisterns located in the Olensas area, and the Etsu Bridge, a Roman-era bridge.

Ittireddu's population is in constant decline, as is the case in many small Italian villages. Nonetheless, the village maintains a strong cultural and linguistic tradition spoken particularly in Northern Logudorese.
Culture
Visit the Civico Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Ittireddu, where visitors can admire exhibits ranging from prehistory to the Middle Ages. The ethnographic section displays artifacts pertaining to traditional culture concerning farming, shepherding, and various food preparation and processing techniques, as well as weaving, spinning, and textile techniques.
