Guarene is a beautiful town located in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont, with a population of 3525 inhabitants. This municipality is located within the geographic boundaries of Roero and borders Alba, the capital of Langhe and White Truffle.

An ancient history

Guarene has an ancient history that can be discovered through its varied historical architecture. The coat of arms and flag of the Municipality of Guarene were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on July 5th, 1952.

A growing economy

Tourism is the driving force of Guarene's economy, which became an Orange Flag Municipality of the Italian Touring Club in 2019 and obtained the recognition of Green Ear in 2021. In 2023, it was included in the restricted circle of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Guarene's business fabric retains a strong vocation for the cultivation of quality agricultural products, from which precious wines such as Barbera d'Alba, Roero, Roero Arneis, and Dolcetto d'Alba are obtained. The municipality also hosts numerous small and medium-sized enterprises.

Guarene is rich in monuments and places of interest. The castle of Guarene is one of the most important places in the city. The current construction dates back to the eighteenth century and was designed by Count Giacinto Roero. Guarene also hosts the first headquarters of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, opened in 1997 in the eponymous palace overlooking the central Piazza Roma.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, as of December 31st, 2017, foreign citizens residing in Guarene were 329, mostly from Romania, Morocco, and the Republic of Macedonia.
