The Province of Rovigo: a friendly guide

The Rovigo territory extends for about 100 km from the border with the province of Verona to the mouths of the Po delta, in the municipalities of Rosolina, Porto Viro, Porto Tolle, and Ariano in Polesine.
Hydrography
There are three main rivers that cross the province of Rovigo: the Po, the Adige, and the Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante. The Rovigo territory is also crossed by a large number of artificial agricultural drainage canals, including the main ones: the Collettore Padano, the Scolo Ceresolo, and the Scolo Valdentro. All of this has led to some hydraulic problems which have caused floods that have affected the area. The most recent of these floods was that of November 1951, which caused significant damage to the territory.
