History
According to the historian Tommaso Fazello, Gualtieri Sicaminò is located six miles from the castle of Milazzo, slightly east of the town of Santa Lucia del Mela.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the banner of Gualtieri Sicaminò were granted by a D.P.R. of April 24, 2000. The coat of arms combines the symbols of four of the main families that ruled Gualtieri over the centuries, namely the Gavarretta, Marino, Graffeo and Avarna. The banner, on the other hand, is a blue cloth.

The municipality of Gualtieri Sicaminò is rich in churches dating back to different periods, including the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata from the XIV century, the Cathedral of San Nicola di Bari from the XV century, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, the Church of Santa Maria del Santo Sabato or Gesù and Maria (Soccorso), the Church of San Nicola di Bari (Sicaminò), the Church of Santa Maria del Perpetuo Soccorso (Soccorso), the Church of Santa Maria dell'Idria (Soccorso), the Church of Mercy from 1753, the Church of San Cataldo from the XIX century, the Church of San Giuseppe and the Church of Madonna delle Grazie (Sicaminò).
The municipality is also famous for the Old Bridge and the Baronial Palace of the Avarna.
Among the natural areas, the Cataolo waterfalls are an unmissable destination and easily accessible from a path.

The municipality of Gualtieri Sicaminò has seen a demographic increase of 1.7% in the last decade and as of December 31, 2021, foreigners residing in the municipality were 36, or 2.3% of the population. The largest groups of foreigners come from Romania and Morocco.
The main traditions of the municipality include the Feast of San Nicola di Bari (last Sunday of August), the Feast of Madonna del Perpetuo Soccorso (August 22), the Orange Festival (third Sunday in May) and the Festival "Du Pasticciottu di Soccorso" (second Sunday in May).
Economy
Citrus cultivation, olive and grape cultivation are the main economic sources of the municipality of Gualtieri Sicaminò. The village is also part of the wine production area Denominazione di origine controllata Mamertino Ansonica - Grillo.
