The Territory

The northern border is mostly conventional, except in certain points like between the municipalities of Truccazzano and Comazzo, where it is delimited by the Molgora stream. The territory of the Province of Lodi is generally composed of alluvial soil and in many cases presents a large presence of calcareous and clayey sediments.
Orography
The only orographic feature present in the Province of Lodi is the San Colombano al Lambro hill, located near the eponymous municipality of the exclave of the metropolitan city of Milan. This hill is the only remaining part of a larger hilly area that has been eroded over the centuries by the action of the rivers. The hill reaches a maximum height of 298 meters.
Hydrography
From a hydrographic point of view, the Province of Lodi is entirely inside the Po River basin and receives its waters through its tributaries, the Lambro and Adda rivers. Among the present artificial canals, the main ones are the Brembiolo and the Muzza Canal.
