Discovering Godiasco Salice Terme

Hello everyone! Today I will tell you about Godiasco Salice Terme, a Lombardian municipality located in the Oltrepò Pavese. With its 3176 inhabitants, it is an interesting place to visit if you are in the area. Let's discover its history and places of interest to visit.

History

The history of Godiasco is very ancient, in fact, the territory was enfeoffed by Federico Barbarossa to Obizzo Malaspina in 1164. The marchesato of Godiasco was subjected to the duchy of Milan and became one of the "different lands" of Oltrepò. Even in the eighteenth century, the marchesato of Godiasco was referred to as an administrative and judicial unit, comprising several municipalities. In June 2012, following a popular referendum, the name was changed from "Godiasco" to "Godiasco Salice Terme".

Godiasco Salice Terme is a municipality rich in places to visit. The hamlet of Salice Terme is the most well-known thanks to its thermal waters. Here you can find the spa center with indoor and outdoor thermal pools, hydro-massages, saunas, and massages. It is perfect for a day of relaxation and rejuvenation.

The historic center of Godiasco, on the other hand, is characterized by narrow streets and stone houses, where you can discover the remains of the Malaspina castle. If you are passionate about architecture, I recommend visiting the church of San Giovanni Battista, dating back to 1600, where you can admire its marble inlaid main altar.

If you are nature lovers, I recommend visiting the Monte Alpe Nature Reserve, which extends between Lombardy and Liguria. Here you can go trekking and enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills.
