Case di Trento
Case di Trento: a small hamlet in the heart of Abruzzo
Hello friends, today I want to talk to you about a small Italian hamlet located in the province of Teramo, in Abruzzo. I'm talking about Case di Trento, a place with a suggestive name that has a short but interesting history and some places of interest to visit.
History
Case di Trento originated in the first half of the 18th century, when a chapel was built in memory of the Council of Trent. A group of agricultural properties joined the chapel, giving rise to a village that took the name of Case di Trento, although it is sometimes mistakenly written as Case di Trenta. In the 19th century, the hamlet further developed and became one of the most important villages in the area.
Monuments and places of interest
Religious Architecture
The main place of interest in Case di Trento is the Church of the Holy Trinity, which was originally built as a chapel in the 18th century. The brick gable façade is imposing and embellished with a portico that precedes the entrance door. In the center of the façade, above the entrance, there is a niche with the statue of Mary.
Inside the church, the nave is long and impressive, the result of various modifications and renovations over the centuries. On the back of the church stands a small bell tower with two bells. The Church of the Holy Trinity was a long-standing place of worship for the residents of Case di Trento, but now it is annexed to the parish of Maria Santissima degli Angeli in Mosciano Sant'Angelo.
Conclusions
Case di Trento may seem like an anonymous place, but if you take the time to visit it, you will discover that it has a lot to offer in terms of cultural and historical heritage. If you are in the area, do not hesitate to make a detour to visit this charming village and its beautiful church. Thank you for listening to me and see you on the next adventure!
