The history of Gabiano

The coat of arms and banner of the Municipality of Gabiano date back to 1987 and were granted by decree of the President of the Republic. The golden lion in the coat of arms comes from the blazon of the nobles of Gabiano, who held the fief until 1421. The castle of Gabiano represents an important tourist attraction that draws visitors from all over the world.

Monuments and places of interest in Gabiano

The Castle of the Cattaneo Adorno Giustiniani family, high on the hill of Gabiano, represents one of the most beautiful and interesting monuments to visit. Gabiano also has a medieval church such as the Pieve di San Pietro, which has preserved the romanesque bell tower. In Varengo there is the beautiful Parish Church of Sant'Eusebio, a remarkable example of baroque architecture.
