Forgaria nel Friuli

Forgària in Friuli: a geographically unique town

Hello friends! Today I'll talk to you about Forgària in Friuli, a small Italian municipality with a population of 1706 inhabitants located in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

The town has a unique geographical position, in fact it is located in the province of Udine beyond the Tagliamento River, and for this reason, it is also influenced by the historical and linguistic influences of Western Friuli. Its territorial surface ranges from 270 meters above sea level at the municipal center, to 841 meters above sea level of "Mont di Prât", up to about 1000 meters above sea level of "Piè di Cuar" and 1200 meters above sea level of the mountain retreat "Casera".

The history of Forgària in Friuli

Forgària in Friuli has always been part of the province of Udine, except for the period from 1968 to 1969, when it was assigned to the province of Pordenone. In 1976, the municipality was hit by the Friuli earthquake, which caused huge damages and destroyed much of the local architecture.
