Flussio
A brief introduction
Hello friends, today we will talk about Flussio, a small municipality in the province of Oristano, Sardinia. With a population of 418 inhabitants, Flussio seamlessly joins the municipality of Tinnura and shares the main road which corresponds to the SS292 Northwest Sardinian State Road.
A brief history
The territory of Flussio was inhabited since Nuragic and Roman times, but it was ruled by different noble families throughout the centuries. In the Middle Ages, it belonged to the Giudicato of Torres and to the curatorship of Planargia. In the 18th century, it was incorporated in the marquisate of Planargia, fief of the Paliaccio family. It was redeemed from the last feudal lords in 1839 with the abolition of the feudal system. Flussio also experienced an administrative change in 2003, when it passed from the province of Nuoro to the province of Oristano.
