Feisoglio

Feisoglio: a small Piedmontese village

Feisoglio, also known as "Feisseu" in the Piedmontese language, is an Italian municipality located in the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont. This place is situated in the heart of the Piedmontese hills and has a population of only 303 inhabitants. Despite being a small village, Feisoglio has an interesting and unique history.

History

In the 16th century, the name of this municipality was "Farzoio", as shown in the Gallery of Geographic Maps of the Vatican Palaces. The area around Feisoglio has been inhabited since ancient times, as evidenced by the numerous archaeological finds discovered in this area. In the Middle Ages, Feisoglio was part of the marquisate of Monferrato and was under the control of the Aleramo family. Over the centuries, the town changed owners many times, passing under the control of different noble families. However, despite these numerous changes of power, Feisoglio has always maintained a strong sense of community and solidarity among its inhabitants.

However, the mountain communities continue to have a significant importance in the life of Feisoglio and the surrounding communities.
