Origins of the Name

The toponym Eupilio was adopted to indicate a union of municipalities established in 1927. In Greek, it could mean "beautiful gate". The name of the city is probably a reference to the "Eupili" mentioned by Pliny the Elder in his Historia Naturalis, which Giuseppe Parini mentions in his poem entitled La salubrità dell'aria.

History

The territory of Eupilio has hosted human settlements since 3000 BC, as confirmed by archaeological finds. In the municipality, it is possible to admire finds from the Copper Age and Bronze Age. Symbols

The coat of arms and banner of the municipality of Eupilio were granted in 2008. The Visconti serpent in the emblem pays homage to the domain of the Duchy of Milan over the villages of Carella and Mariaga and the locality of Corneno. The tower and the foot represent the fraction of Galliano and Monte Cornizzolo, respectively.
