Dragoni

Welcome to Dragoni, an Italian municipality in the province of Caserta in Campania!

Located at the foot of Mount Melito, one of the peaks of the Trebulani Mountains, Dragoni is an ancient town of 1938 inhabitants.

A brief history of the town

Dragons: history, art and culture in Campania.

In the Middle Ages, Dragoni and other neighboring towns were feudal property of the noble family of the Dragoni, from which they took their name. During fascism, from 1927 to 1945, the town belonged to the province of Benevento as a result of the temporary suppression of the province of Caserta.

Monuments and places of interest

Dragoni is blessed with splendid religious buildings, such as the Church of the Annunciation, the Church of San Biagio, the Church of San Marco, the Church of San Simeone, the Church of Sant'Andrea Apostolo, and the Church of San Giovanni Battista. Each of these buildings is unique and represents a masterpiece of art and architecture.

Society

The population of Dragoni is mainly composed of Italians, but there are also foreign people representing 3.4% of the resident population. Among the most represented nationalities are Indians, Romanians, Moroccans, and Russians.

Administration

The capital of Dragoni has expanded into other nearby fractions with the exception of Maiorano di Monte. This means that the municipality is not scattered.
