Cavona

Discovering Cavona, a small and little-known hamlet with great historical and scenic value in the Municipality of Cuveglio, Lombardy.

Let's discover its history

Cavona has very ancient historical roots. Until the 18th century, the village was part of the parish of Val Cuvia in the Duchy of Milan and had 318 inhabitants. In 1805, the number of residents reached 376 and with the advent of the Lombardo-Venetian kingdom, Cavona regained its autonomy.

Today, the hamlet of Cavona has only 259 inhabitants, but retains the charm of traditions and life from the past. The mountainous and agricultural nature of the surroundings has contributed to its slow demographic decline, but for some years now, cultural and tourist initiatives are being promoted to revive the territory.
