Trivero is a city located in the province of Biella, in the region of Piedmont. It is located in the hamlet of Ronco and is the seat of the municipality of Valdilana, which includes the former municipalities of Mosso, Soprana and Valle Mosso. An extremely important area for the wool sector, known for being the gateway to the panoramic road of the Zegna Oasis.
History
Trivero has a long history dating back to the medieval period, when it belonged for a long time to the archdiocese of Vercelli. Later, in the 14th century, the city was involved in clashes between the followers of Fra Dolcino and the episcopal and feudal troops during which Dolcino was captured on Monte Rubello, north of the town. In 1379, Trivero became part of the Savoy House's domains, together with much of Biella. In 1798, the tree of freedom, a symbol of the French Revolution, was erected there.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Trivero was granted by decree of the President of the Republic on October 6th, 1953.
Monuments and places of interest
Trivero is famous for the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Heath, located in the town of Bulliana, one of the most frequented in Northern-Eastern Biella province. Near Trivero there is also the Sanctuary of Mazzucco, originally dedicated to Mary and Bernard of Clairvaux, and then particularly to Anna.

The municipality was part of the suppressed Mountain Community Val Sessera, Valle di Mosso and Prealpi Biellesi, while until 2010 it belonged to the Mountain Community Valle di Mosso, abolished following the merger ordered by the Piedmont Region in 2009.
