San Grisante

Welcome to San Grisante, a village in the municipality of Crescentino, in the beautiful province of Vercelli. If you are thinking of visiting this small village, you will find many beauties to discover.

Monuments and places of interest

One of the most interesting places to visit in San Grisante is the parish church of Crisante and Daria. The church, restored by the parish priest Giuseppe Bianco in the 1920s, is a beautiful example of religious architecture, with a particular highlight in its structure: the towering bell tower built in the 1940s. In 1943, the bell tower reached the incredible height of 58 meters, making it the tallest bell tower in the diocese of Vercelli. The view from the bell tower is breathtaking and definitely worth a visit.

The history of San Grisante

Did you know that San Grisante has a long and fascinating history? The village dates back to Roman times, but reached its greatest population in the Middle Ages, when it was the seat of one of the major lordships in the area. It was only in the seventeenth century that the village came under the control of the municipality of Crescentino, and since then, San Grisante has continued to slowly but steadily develop until today.
