History

The history of the municipality refers to the Benedictine convent of San Pietro, around which all its local history developed. Cremella was a Spanish fiefdom until the eighteenth century, when it passed into the hands of the Marquis Federico Gussani, later sold to Pietro Vassalli. During the fascist period, Cremella was incorporated into the municipal territory of Barzanò, and then returned to being autonomous after the Second World War.
