History
The history of Costa Vescovato is linked to the presence of the bishops of Tortona, from which its name derives. The territory was subject to several jurisdictional conflicts between the bishops and the Spanish government first and then the Savoy government. After the Napoleonic era, Costa Vescovato became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia.

The municipality of Costa Vescovato has a coat of arms and a banner granted by decree of the President of the Republic on January 8, 1991.
