Cortina d'Ampezzo is a municipality located in Veneto, in the geographic region of Ladinia. It is famous worldwide as a winter and summer tourism destination and as the venue for numerous internationally relevant mountain and winter sports events. There are also the sources of Rufiédo, Felizón, and Boite, which represent real hydrological peculiarities on the Ampezzan soil and create spectacular waterfalls, such as the Fanes Gorge. There are also numerous streams and torrents that flow along the rocky slopes of the mountains and in the woods.
