The history of Corte Palasio
Corte Palasio is an Italian municipality located in the province of Lodi in Lombardy. The municipality has a long and interesting history. Of Gallic origin, Corte Palasio belonged to the counts of Comazzo, the episcopal table of Lodi, and the abbey of Cerreto. In 1460, it passed to the Trivulzio family. During the Napoleonic era, from 1809 to 1816, the municipality of Corte Palasio was united with Abbadia Cerreto and Tormo, later becoming independent with the establishment of the Lombard-Venetian Kingdom.

Corte Palasio has a population of 1,527 inhabitants. Over the years, the population has grown and decreased. In 1751, the registered number of residents was 2,010. In 1805, the number was 1,286. In 2000, after being aggregated to Abbadia Cerreto and Tormo, the number of residents rose again. The foreigners living in Corte Palasio as of December 31, 2019, were 213, of which 99 were Romanians and 24 were Egyptians.

Corte Palasio is composed of six inhabited centers: Bocchirale, Cadilana, Casellario, Palasio, Prada, and Terraverde. The seat of the municipality is located in Terraverde. According to ISTAT, the municipality also includes the geographical fraction of Cadilana, the inhabited location of Bastia-Molina, Dosso, Prada, and Ronchi.
The economy of Corte Palasio
The economy of Corte Palasio is mainly based on agriculture. In the past, the municipality hosted a highly acclaimed agricultural school, even visited by General Giuseppe Garibaldi in March 1862. In recent years, the latifundium has disappeared, and the land has been acquired by the Fund for the Training of Peasant Ownership. There are now about thirty farms with dairy cattle breeding facilities. The other residents are employed in commercial and tertiary enterprises. In Cadilana, thanks to its proximity to the State Road 235 of Orzinuovi, there has been a building growth and the settlement of small industrial and artisanal firms.

The local administration of Corte Palasio is managed by the municipality together with Abbadia Cerreto, Crespiatica, and Boffalora d'Adda in the Lombard Union of Municipalities "Beyond Adda Lodigiano."
