Costa: a gem in the municipality of Conegliano

Hello friends, today I want to talk to you about Costa, a delightful location situated on the hills to the North of the municipality of Conegliano, in the province of Treviso. Costa is not considered a geographic fraction, but is divided into two parts: Costa Alta and Costa Bassa. Its position makes it a perfect place to enjoy a panoramic view and immerse oneself in nature.

Monuments and places of interest

If you're visiting Costa, you can't miss the Church of San Silvestro Papa, a building with ancient origins dating back to the mid-15th century. In 1506 the church became a parish and since then it has undergone numerous renovations. The last restoration intervention took place in 1853, by the Bishop Manfredo Giovanni Battista Bellati, in which the two small side aisles were added.

Inside the Church of San Silvestro Papa you will find splendid works of art, many of which come from the Cappuccini convent in Conegliano, which was suppressed at the end of the 19th century. There are frescoes and paintings of great artistic value, capable of capturing the attention of visitors.

Villa Canello is another must-see destination if you're in the area of Costa Alta. This 18th-century Venetian villa is located behind the Castle of Conegliano and represents the southern end of the territory of the locality. The villa was built in the 18th century and is characterized by the typical style of Venetian villas. Its Italian garden has been restored and represents a point of great charm for visitors.
