History

According to historians, the center of Condrò was located one mile away from Gualtieri Sicaminò and six miles from the castle of Milazzo. Over the centuries, the town has undergone various dominations, from the Phoenicians to the Greeks, from the Romans to the Byzantines, and then from the Normans and Angevins. In 1647, during the revolt of Masaniello, Condrò was devastated by rebels led by Giovanni Grillo, but later it recovered thanks to the construction of new churches and important palaces.
